Telling Agriculture's Story:
Engagement, Content and Dealing with Online Controversy
Monday, September 15th
12-2 pm

Staybridge Inn and Suites
1501 N. 86th St.
Lincoln, NE 68505

Format:
12-12:30 - Lunch
12:30 - 1:30 - Presentation
1:30 -2 - Optional Workshop (If you've brought your technology and want hands on help with anything we've discussed we will provide one-on-one time for more questions on the topic or specific technology help.)

This session will include tips for how to engage and connect with your audience. What will work and what doesn’t. It will also help answer the question, “Who is my audience?” This workshop will help explain the concept of content and what is engaging. How can agriculture use social media to tell its story to a target audience? This workshop will cover strategy and why it is useful, the difference for writing via different social media outlets, websites and blogging as well as the topic of outside contributions.

In addition, we realize that because the Internet is such an open forum for discussion that everyone runs the risk of coming under fire from activist groups or naysayers. We will touch upon how to deal with hostile users and how to turn these negative conflicts into a positive learning opportunity. In this portion, rules and regulations, privacy and proper terminology will be discussed.
